The liberalization of industrial, power, and other sectors has also influenced the Indian Railways. With rapid industrialization and the establishment of numerous industries requiring Railway siding facilities, the Railway Board issued guidelines to all Zonal Railways. These guidelines aimed at empaneling private consultancy firms possessing the necessary expertise and experience, and meeting specific criteria, to independently conduct techno-economic and engineering surveys, as well as planning and project management of private Railway sidings, akin to RITES and IRCON. Consequently, several private firms, often promoted and managed by retired Railway professionals, emerged to provide industries with specialized services for Railway siding construction.

KVR is one such consultancy firm registered with Indian Railways. It offers professional services in surveying, planning, designing, estimating, construction, and project management of Railway sidings, including Overhead Electrification and Signaling. Additionally, KVR provides services in infrastructure development related to roads and structures. The firm is equipped to execute projects on a TURNKEY basis.
